К 1989 году положение во всех союзных республиках исправилось в пользу коренного населения, но три столицы имели русское большинство: Рига и все также Алматы и Бишкек.
Сегодня не осталось ни одного города в бывших союзных республиках где бы русские были большинством.
Особенно впечатляет как успешно прошла Реконкиста в Казахстане.
Башкиры скоро также станут независимыми и большинством в своей республике.
