Век можно провести, читая Геродота:
то скифы персов бьют, то персы жгут кого-то…
Но выцветает кровь. В истории твоей —
оливы шум, крестьянский запах пота.
Мельчает греков грубая семья,
спешит ладья военная в Египет.
Мы горечи чужой не можем выпить,
нам только имена, как стерни от жнивья,
а посох в те края на камне выбит…
И где она, земля лидийских гордецов,
золотоносных рек и золотых полотен,
где мир в зародыше, где он ещё так плотен,
где в небе ходит кровь сожжённых городов,
где человек жесток и наг и беззаботен…

Умерла поэтесса Елена Игнатова (родилась в 1947 году, закончила филфак Ленинградского универа, работала учителем, с 1990 года жила в Израиле). Хорошие стихи, конечно, у неё.
