Prince Arthur in Canada
Prince Arthur, son of Queen Victoria, first came to Canada in 1869. Between serving with the Montreal Rifle Brigade and defending Canada against the Fenian Raid of 1870, he embraced the Canadian climate and its winter sports. The Prince Arthur Toboggan Club was one of his patronages. During the early talks of Confederation there were some ideas of making Canada an “auxiliary” Kingdom of the Empire. One option was put forward by the former Irish Revolutionary, Thomas D’Arcy McGee, to have one of Queen Victoria’s younger sons set up as a King who would reign from Canada, Prince Arthur being the most favoured. This never came to be, however, but Prince Arthur would return to Canada as the Duke of Connaught in 1911 to take up the position of Governor General, the only British Prince ever to do so. Prince Arthur died in 1942 at the age of 91.

"The result is on this photo: fiery 'greetings' to the invaders," the Security Service of Ukraine wrote alongside a photo showing several military vehicles among plumes of black smoke. Recently, Durav wrote on his Telegram channel that users' right to privacy, in light of the war in Ukraine, is "sacred, now more than ever." Pavel Durov, a billionaire who embraces an all-black wardrobe and is often compared to the character Neo from "the Matrix," funds Telegram through his personal wealth and debt financing. And despite being one of the world's most popular tech companies, Telegram reportedly has only about 30 employees who defer to Durov for most major decisions about the platform. Unlike Silicon Valley giants such as Facebook and Twitter, which run very public anti-disinformation programs, Brooking said: "Telegram is famously lax or absent in its content moderation policy." Crude oil prices edged higher after tumbling on Thursday, when U.S. West Texas intermediate slid back below $110 per barrel after topping as much as $130 a barrel in recent sessions.
