«Тысячи зверей, которые там находились, конечно, тоже уничтожены. Масштабы катастрофы огромные», — добавил Леонтьев.
Национальный парк создан в 2015 году указом президента Украины для сохранения возобновления и рационального использования природных комплексов дельты Днепра. Ландшафт включает в себя луга, болота, степи, пойменные леса.
Его площадь превышает 80 га, а 71 вид животных с 32 видами растений включены в Мировой Красный список Международного союза охраны природы (МСОП), Европейский Красный список, Красную книгу Украины и Красный список Херсонской области.
