Афанасьева попыталась обжаловать это решение, заявив, что является недопустимым обсуждение личности и поведения адвоката, а также применение к нему мер наказания, не предусмотренных федеральным законом. Но Верховный суд РС(Я) 30 ноября встал на сторону адвокатского сообщества, отказав ей в иске.
