Правительство Бурятии завершило подготовку проектной документации для прохождения государственной экспертизы межвузовского кампуса «Байкал» в столице региона. При положительном заключении уже в этом году начнется строительство кампуса.
Студенческий городок Бурятии объединит пять ведущих вузов региона — Бурятский госуниверситет, Восточно-Сибирский госуниверситет технологий и управления, Бурятскую государственную сельхозакадемию, Восточно-Сибирский государственный институт культуры и Бурятский институт инфокоммуникаций.
В состав кампуса войдут студенческие общежития на 2018 мест, спортивный комплекс, дом для преподавателей и социальная инфраструктура, а также современный учебно-лабораторный корпус.
