Additionally, a new setting called “Show Authors' Profiles” has been added under “Administrators.” When enabled, an icon indicating the sender of the post will appear to the left of the post on the channel. Any channel administrator can manage this option, regardless of their permissions.
The “Sign Messages” setting, which was previously located on the main channel settings screen, is now available in this section. When disabled, the text input field for messages will show “Anonymous Message” instead of “Publication.”

Official government accounts have also spread fake fact checks. An official Twitter account for the Russia diplomatic mission in Geneva shared a fake debunking video claiming without evidence that "Western and Ukrainian media are creating thousands of fake news on Russia every day." The video, which has amassed almost 30,000 views, offered a "how-to" spot misinformation. Friday’s performance was part of a larger shift. The regulator said it had received information that messages containing stock tips and other investment advice with respect to selected listed companies are being widely circulated through websites and social media platforms such as Telegram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. Asked about its stance on disinformation, Telegram spokesperson Remi Vaughn told AFP: "As noted by our CEO, the sheer volume of information being shared on channels makes it extremely difficult to verify, so it's important that users double-check what they read."
