За два дня прочитала книгу "Сгинь" потому что она совсем небольшая, отзывом поделюсь завтра.
А пока мне захотелось чего-то более позитивного и отдыхательного, надеюсь эта книга именно такая. На улице чувствуется весна и рука тянется к чему-то легкому)

По сюжету здесь главная героиня Вивьен после провала своей пьесы в Лондоне по совету подруги едет в Рим участвовать в съемках фильма, помогать с написанием сценария. Но кроме этого у Вивьен с Италией связана надежда узнать что-то о своем женихе, который пропал без вести во время войны и последнеи местопребыванием его была Италия. События книги происходят в послевоенные 1950е годы и думаю тяжелые темы здесь все же будут. Еще здесь фигурируют такие реально существующие личности, как моя любимая Дафна Дюморье, Пегги Гуггенхайм (правда эпизодически) и звезды киноиндустрии того времени.

In February 2014, the Ukrainian people ousted pro-Russian president Viktor Yanukovych, prompting Russia to invade and annex the Crimean peninsula. By the start of April, Pavel Durov had given his notice, with TechCrunch saying at the time that the CEO had resisted pressure to suppress pages criticizing the Russian government. At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised. In December 2021, Sebi officials had conducted a search and seizure operation at the premises of certain persons carrying out similar manipulative activities through Telegram channels. Russian President Vladimir Putin launched Russia's invasion of Ukraine in the early-morning hours of February 24, targeting several key cities with military strikes. In addition, Telegram's architecture limits the ability to slow the spread of false information: the lack of a central public feed, and the fact that comments are easily disabled in channels, reduce the space for public pushback.
