زنده‌یاد جلال متینی از کارگزاران نیک‌پندار، راست‌‌گفتار و درست‌کردار ایران بود که مهر میهن در زندگیش موج می‌زد. او، چه در ایران و چه در تبعید، دانش و بینش عمیقش در ایران‌شناسی، تاریخ و ادبیات فارسی را در خدمت آرمان‌های ملی به کار گرفت. وی به دور از تنزه‌طلبی، باورهای ایران‌گرایانه خود را با صراحت بیان می‌کرد و به همین دلیل نیز پس از فاجعه۵۷ از دانشگاه فردوسی مشهد، که خانه دومش بود، اخراج شد. انتشار دو مجله «ایران‌نامه» و «ایران‌شناسی» در خارج از کشور، بازتابی از دغدغه‌های ارزشمند اوست. یادش را گرامی می‌دارم و آرزومند تداوم راه راستین او در خدمت به ایران هستم.
