Millennials catch a lot of shit but the one thing they kinda deserve it for is being spazzed out helicopter parents.
People are lighting themselves on fire over this sunny, happy mother feeding her kid one McDonalds fry. Invariably it's some childless hag with zero parenting knowledge, and certainly zero experience.

Kids don't need much. Give them enough food, tons of love, keep them away from poz, and make sure they make it to adulthood with most of their fingers and toes. That's all you have to do. Stop trying to opti-maxxx your kid's potential, you're turning them into a neurotic freak like you, which is way worse than eating a bit of junk food. Most of your kid's potential is encoded in their genes anyway, and your job is to teach them how to manage their flaws, not to turn them into some sort of Platonic ideal of a human being.
