С 1 января 2025 года крупнотоннажные контейнеровозы, намеревающиеся проходить Хьюстонским судоходным каналом в темное время суток, должны быть оборудованы круговым аксиометром. В соответствии с требованиями к судам, проходящим через Панамский и Суэцкий каналы, круговой аксиометр должен четко показывать положение и направление руля(ей) в градусах и быть установленным на подволоке вблизи передней переборки для эффективного обзора лоцманом.
