Як відомо, Ісус Христос пройшов шлях, що вів до Голгофи, де і був розіп’ятий на хресті заради спасіння усього людства. Хресну дорогу символізують 14 образів (стацій) того трагічного переходу. У переносному значенні «Хресна дорога» - це дорога страждань і стійко перенесених лих.
«Кожен несе свій хрест»… І Україна несе його упродовж свого існування. Боляче усвідомлювати, скільки лиха випало на його долю! Боляче, бо треба йти через те, чого не очікували. Боляче, бо беремо в руки зброю. Боляче, бо вбивають рідних і знищують найдорожче. Вбивають важкі цвяхи в тіло України. Боляче, але ми терпимо. Війна була неминучою, бо ми не хотіли змінюватися.
Перед початком «Хресної дороги» було проголошено намір: за що жертвується ця молитва. Звичайно ж, за прощення гріхів і Перемогу над віковічним ворогом. І ми віримо, що Ти, Ісусе, йдеш разом із нами.
