На новом атомном ледоколе «Якутия» поднят государственный флаг России. Это третий серийный универсальный атомоход проекта 22220, построенный на Балтийском заводе в Санкт-Петербурге, и восьмой действующий в составе атомного ледокольного флота страны, сообщает «Атомфлот».

Ледокол был заложен в мае 2020 года. В ноябре 2022-го, в год 100-летия образования Якутской АССР, его спустили на воду. Но имя он получил не поэтому. Традиционно атомоходам теперь присваивают названия в честь региона, примыкающего к Севморпути.
Длина ледокола – 172,7 метра, минимальная рабочая осадка – 9,03 метра.
Срок эксплуатации судна – 40 лет.
