Население Урала перевалило за 12 млн человек. Таковы предварительные данные всероссийской переписи, которые обнародовал Росстат. С 2010 года, когда проводилась предыдущая перепись, население выросло лишь на 1,8%.
Прирост населения обеспечили лишь 2 региона. Демографическим локомотивом оказалась Тюменская область, которая прибавила почти 20% жителей. А в Югре население выросло чуть менее чем на 12%.
При этом на Ямале со схожей с югорской экономикой население не росло, а уменьшалось, - сразу на 2,5%.
Хуже же всего обстоят дела в Курганской области, которая потеряла почти 15% жителей. Это один из худших демографических результатов в России: быстрее население убывало в нулевые годы лишь в северных регионах - Коми, Карелии, Мурманской и Архангельской областях.
Депопуляция Севера связана с закрытием производств и деградацией инфраструктуры. Выходит эти беды не обошли стороной и некогда индустриально развитый Курган.
