Вслед за крупным городом Нови-Сад и столицей Белградом города Панчево и Зренянин присоединились к всеобщей забастовке.

Всеобщая забастовка стала продолжением протестных акций и митингов, которые начались с инициатив студентов в 2024 году. Первая всеобщая забастовка в Сербии состоялась 24 января 2025 года.

Несмотря на то, что изначально акция была инициирована студентами, она получила широкую поддержку от различных общественных, коммерческих и государственных организаций Сербии.
