Всенощное бдение – православное богослужение, совершаемое накануне особо чтимых праздничных дней. Оно состоит из великой вечерни и полиелейной утрени.
Составляющей частью великой вечерни является пение первой кафизмы или первых ее трех псалмов. Однако в современной богослужебной практике Русской Православной Церкви на всенощном бдении исполняются избранные стихи из псалмов 1, 2 и 3. Каждый стих покрывается троекратным пением Аллилуйя.
Словами Псалтири, положенными для пения в начале вечерней службы, каждый из нас призывается хранить себя в чистоте от греха и во всем уповать на Бога, с радостью принимая от Него и скорби, и благословения.
