Пока работаю над книгой, так что остается не особенно много времени на постинг, но не могу не поделиться — запустили с соавторами нашего подкаста про game studies новое шоу. Позволит нам не пропадать, пока читаем какого-нибудь Бернара Перрона (скоро, кстати, новый выпуск).

«Слушай внимательно, скелет» — это наша коллективная отдушина, наиболее близкая по формату подкасту Insert Credit (хороший, советую). В чем суть: задаем друг другу необычные вопросы и даем себе коллективное ограничение по времени для ответа. В первом эпизоде говорим про такое:

— В каких играх самая лучшая еда?
— Как получать удовольствие от игр c Соником?
— Как делать игры, в которых хочется гулять?
— Что нас удерживает в играх, которые нам не нравятся?

Right now the digital security needs of Russians and Ukrainians are very different, and they lead to very different caveats about how to mitigate the risks associated with using Telegram. For Ukrainians in Ukraine, whose physical safety is at risk because they are in a war zone, digital security is probably not their highest priority. They may value access to news and communication with their loved ones over making sure that all of their communications are encrypted in such a manner that they are indecipherable to Telegram, its employees, or governments with court orders. The next bit isn’t clear, but Durov reportedly claimed that his resignation, dated March 21st, was an April Fools’ prank. TechCrunch implies that it was a matter of principle, but it’s hard to be clear on the wheres, whos and whys. Similarly, on April 17th, the Moscow Times quoted Durov as saying that he quit the company after being pressured to reveal account details about Ukrainians protesting the then-president Viktor Yanukovych. The regulator said it has been undertaking several campaigns to educate the investors to be vigilant while taking investment decisions based on stock tips. "Your messages about the movement of the enemy through the official chatbot … bring new trophies every day," the government agency tweeted. Channels are not fully encrypted, end-to-end. All communications on a Telegram channel can be seen by anyone on the channel and are also visible to Telegram. Telegram may be asked by a government to hand over the communications from a channel. Telegram has a history of standing up to Russian government requests for data, but how comfortable you are relying on that history to predict future behavior is up to you. Because Telegram has this data, it may also be stolen by hackers or leaked by an internal employee.
