12 марта 2024 года последние отряды Сил быстрой поддержки (RSF) попытались вырваться из окружения в которое они попали 19 февраля. Попытка прорыва оказалась неудачной, RSF потеряли много техники и были рассеяны по ближайшим кварталам. В настоящее время SAF ведут зачистку этого района, демонстрируют присутствие рядом с кварталом, где расположены Sudan TV и Sudan Radio.

Это первые крупные успехи SAF со времен начала конфликта в Судане 15 апреля 2023 года

Voice and video calls are also completely encrypted. "And that set off kind of a battle royale for control of the platform that Durov eventually lost," said Nathalie Maréchal of the Washington advocacy group Ranking Digital Rights.
