Our friends from the original DisCO LAB Guerrilla Media Collective have launched a second Lovework Open Call, and they're looking for this!👇

- Works in Spanish, French, Catalan or German to be translated into English.
- Something a bit out of the ordinary – poetry, science fiction, experimental writing, radical manifestos… They’re open to any genre, but highly encourage submissions of fiction and creative writing.
- Texts up to 5000 words – there’s some flexibility with this but there are bills to pay and they need to be realistic with how much time they can dedicate to pro-bono work until our post-capitalist utopia takes hold.

Spread the word or send a piece of text in any of the above languages that you would like to see translated into English!

🔥 Rural Radicals is the first platform dedicated to the field of culture-led rural development. They believe in the transformative power of creative spaces to foster the regeneration of underpopulated areas. In a time when thousands of rural villages fall into decay, leaving empty properties behind with isolation of the elderly, we need social and cultural pioneers that use these abandoned buildings to benefit local communities and nature centered innovation overall; ‘using property for good’.

The team is formed by a passionate group of idealists, futurists, and experts, dedicated to the mission of non-urban regeneration. They seek to build a deeper connection with nature, ourselves, and the communities around us by using creative spaces in non-urban areas to express artistic creativity, promote natural healing, foster social innovation, and support sustainable entrepreneurship. Times of transition require radical change and by creating more creative spaces outside cities, they can contribute to a more sustainable and balanced society.

The first stop of the DisCO Basics ride is dedicated to answer the question "What is DisCO?"

DisCO is a living, evolving framework that lets us choose how we want to spend our energy and creativity together to reignite the power of the commons.🔥

The second stop of the DisCO Basics ride takes us through the 7 DisCO Principles, a self-reinforcing framework to ensure the creation of transnational networked coops and social-solidarity orgs working for social and planetary restoration.

https://basics.disco.coop/2-disco-principles.html
The third stop of the DisCO Basics ride revisits the origins of DisCO as a set of organizational practices and tools emerged from the conversations & lived experience of the members of Guerrilla Media Collective, the DisCO pilot model. It's been a long way since then! 👇

https://basics.disco.coop/3-disco-origins.html
The fourth stop of the DisCO Basicsintroduces us to the frontline communities that are implementing the model through the DisCO Journey, joining a network of federated DisCO LABS to create distributed economic counterpower. 👇

"The world grows hotter, as land and oceans choke with plastic and poison and people are forced to migrate as their homes become uninhabitable. Fascism makes a comeback worldwide, as militarized police utilize new tactics and technologies to clamp down on dissent. Genocides and vicious civil wars are liberally sanctioned and paid for by powerful nations and industries. The power of capitalism is alive and well, and its power seeps into network technology. Deliberate programs of misinformation and surveillance have amplified greed and alienation.

People have a fundamental desire and inclination to care for each other in the face of catastrophe. So what does it look like for organizations — the building blocks of societies — to prioritize care and liberation for all?"

The eighth stop of theDisCO Basics ride delves into the terminology we use.

After 40 years of bullshit neoliberal language why not rebel, and revel in the magic of coining a glossary that transcend this dystopian reality. Take this language and use it well - it will open up new worlds for you.👇🏼
