«Если законопроект пройдет, то это вынудит нас фундаментально пересмотреть наши отношения с Грузией. <...> Мы ожидаем, что президент его заветирует»,— сказала пресс-секретарь Белого дома.
Президент Грузии Саломе Зурабишвили в свою очередь предупредила, что наложит на закон вето, хотя у партии власти есть достаточно голосов в парламенте, чтобы его преодолеть.

Telegram has acted to remove public channels affiliated with terrorism, but Pavel Durov reiterated that he had no business snooping on private conversations. Such instructions could actually endanger people — citizens receive air strike warnings via smartphone alerts. Russians and Ukrainians are both prolific users of Telegram. They rely on the app for channels that act as newsfeeds, group chats (both public and private), and one-to-one communication. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Telegram has remained an important lifeline for both Russians and Ukrainians, as a way of staying aware of the latest news and keeping in touch with loved ones. You may recall that, back when Facebook started changing WhatsApp’s terms of service, a number of news outlets reported on, and even recommended, switching to Telegram. Pavel Durov even said that users should delete WhatsApp “unless you are cool with all of your photos and messages becoming public one day.” But Telegram can’t be described as a more-secure version of WhatsApp.
