Нет, эта йокодзуна не из времен камикадзе - она полетела #18_декабря 2003 года и имя ей ShinMaywa US-2, самый дорогой гидросамолет в мире на сегодняшний день.

Почему японцы в 21 веке строят такие же самолеты как 70 лет назад?.. Потому что US-2 это модернизация US-1 (фото 4), полетевшего еще в конце 60-х. Денег на новый самолет нет, так что "работает не трогай". И вовсе US-2 не архаичный - и двигатели новые, и кабина "стеклянная", и особо хитрая механизация так лихо управляет пограничным слоем, что и взлетаем быстро (разбег по воде 300 метров, что для махины в 55 тонн и правда круто), и почти не сваливаемся!.. Самолет рекламировали и как поисково-спасательный, и как пожарный, и как противолодочный... Но за прошедший 21 год их наклепали всего 8 штук. Даже заказ от собственной армии еще не покрыли, а других желающих купить не видать. Бериев рынку нравится больше.
