Накануне два Ми-8 авиакомпании «Полярные авиалинии» оказались повреждены в аэропорту Тикси. Ураганный ветер, порывы которого достигали 40 м/с, погнул лопасти несущих винтов вертолётов. Ситуация осложнилась метелью, ухудшившей видимость до 100 метров, а в посёлке Быковский даже снесло крышу многоквартирного дома.

Теперь проверку проводит территориальное управление Росавиации. В авиакомпании также создана группа специалистов для оценки ущерба и подготовки вертолётов к ремонту. Пока группа не может вылететь в Тикси из-за погодных условий — в Якутии по-прежнему бушует метель и сильный ветер.
