Ради се о оклопном транспортеру који је заштићен модуларном оклопном заштитом која је у стању да задржи панцирно-запаљиво зрно калибра 12,7мм. Под возила је конструисано у тзв. „V“ облику што обезбеђује заштиту од експлозије нагазних мина и импровизованих МЕС еквивалента 5,4кг ТНТ-а.
Од наоружања М1117 Guardian може да поседује тешки митраљез Браунинг кал-12,7мм као и АБГ МК-19 који користи гранате кал.40мм.
📌 Према локалним изворима КБС у свом поседу имају 40+ оклопих возила "точкаша" М1117 Guardian. Треба истаћи да су Талибани у завршници своје кампање за ослобађање Авганистана запленили/уништили више од 600 ових возила.
