Именно Владимир был причастен к похищению артиста в 2004 году по заказу олигарха Тельмана Исмаилова, недовольного попыткой Руссо перейти к другому продюсеру.
По версии следствия, Исмаилов 20 лет назад обманом выманил Руссо в московский ресторан "Прага", затем его подельники избили певца и сутки удерживали в загородном доме в Апрелевке. Артисту пришлось согласиться на выдвинутые ему требования.
Для участия в следственных действиях певец прервал гастроли и прилетел в Россию.
