В этот день зятья ходили к тещам на блины. Зятя полагалось кормить до отвала. Отсюда пошло выражение «у тещи на блинах».
Кстати, на каждый день Масленицы положено было печь блины по разным рецептам: дрожжевые, с припеком, с разными начинками, на манке или на гречке. Админ «Фонтанки» буквально на днях сделал для себя очередное «блинное открытие»: если, замешивая тесто, в самом конце развести его кипятком, блины получаются тоненькие и нежные.
Зятя у админа нет (и, к счастью, не предвидится), но Люцик старания оценил.
