По версии следствия, в сентябре 2024 года обвиняемый, управляя автомобилем, при перестроении в крайний правый ряд на дороге «Подъезд к г. Петрозаводску» допустил наезд на двигавшегося в попутном направлении велосипедиста. В результате полученных травм потерпевший скончался на месте происшествия.
