والربيع بن سليمان المرادي صنّف كتبا كثيرة، ولكن لكثرة ورع المزني وفقره؛ بارك الله تعالى في كتابه، وكان يُدرّس هذا المختصر، وكان الفقهاء يتداولونه إلى قيام الساعة.
قال الشيخ أبو زيد رحمه الله: (من تأمَّل في المختصر حق تأمُّله، تطلَّع على جميع الفروع والأصول، فإنه ما من مسألة أوردها إلا ورمز هناك إلى شيء من أصول الشافعي رحمة الله عليه، والله تعالى أعلم بالصواب)".
