В окружном доме народного творчества собрались 54 танцора - учащиеся кадетских классов, юнармейцы, воспитанники патриотического объединения Дворца детского творчества и творческого объединения Детской школы искусств, родители, представители общественности, окружного правительства и администрации города. Бал открыли кадеты. Юноши в парадной форме и девушки в вечерних платьях танцевали вальс. Каждый класс выбрал произведение по своему вкусу. В перерывах между выступлениями ведущие рассказывали об истории и традициях балов в России.
