В первом матче 27-летний Рублев, посеянный на турнире под третьим номером, уступил французу Кентену Алису, 77-й ракетке мира, со счетом 6:3, 4:6, 6:7 (5:7).
Следующим соперником Алиса, который пробился в основную сетку через квалификацию, будет испанец Роберто Баутиста Агут.
Рублев является девятой ракеткой мира, на прошлой неделе он выиграл в Дохе свой 17-й титул ATP в карьере.
