Напомним, что Азат Мифтахов отбывал наказание за предполагаемое бросание дымовой шашки в офис «Единой России» и должен был быть освобожден 4 сентября 2023 года, на следующий день его снова арестовали по делу об «оправдании терроризма». Как считает следствие, находясь в колонии, Мифтахов сказал вслух, что «будет мстить» за смерть друга, который воевал на стороне Украины.
По словам жены Азата, показания на него дал заключенный, с которым математик «больше всего общался». На допросе Мифтахов не признал вину.
