В связи с обстоятельствами задержания журналиста Михаила Козачкова сотрудниками Агентства по финансовому мониторингу (АФМ) и последующим арестом нашего коллеги, нас не могла не заинтересовать фигура председателя АФМ Жаната Элиманова. В своем открытом обращении Козачков говорит, что именно личная неприязнь Элиманова к нему стала причиной уголовного преследования – якобы глава АФМ обиделся за публикацию о его супруге, которая была потерпевшей по делу об очередной финпирамиде. Мы решили проверить и ту историю с финпирамидой и вообще – помониторить активы и связи семьи главы финмониторинга.

This ability to mix the public and the private, as well as the ability to use bots to engage with users has proved to be problematic. In early 2021, a database selling phone numbers pulled from Facebook was selling numbers for $20 per lookup. Similarly, security researchers found a network of deepfake bots on the platform that were generating images of people submitted by users to create non-consensual imagery, some of which involved children. Since January 2022, the SC has received a total of 47 complaints and enquiries on illegal investment schemes promoted through Telegram. These fraudulent schemes offer non-existent investment opportunities, promising very attractive and risk-free returns within a short span of time. They commonly offer unrealistic returns of as high as 1,000% within 24 hours or even within a few hours. You may recall that, back when Facebook started changing WhatsApp’s terms of service, a number of news outlets reported on, and even recommended, switching to Telegram. Pavel Durov even said that users should delete WhatsApp “unless you are cool with all of your photos and messages becoming public one day.” But Telegram can’t be described as a more-secure version of WhatsApp. Artem Kliuchnikov and his family fled Ukraine just days before the Russian invasion. DFR Lab sent the image through Microsoft Azure's Face Verification program and found that it was "highly unlikely" that the person in the second photo was the same as the first woman. The fact-checker Logically AI also found the claim to be false. The woman, Olena Kurilo, was also captured in a video after the airstrike and shown to have the injuries.
