Церковь или рыбный рынок? Нет, всё-таки рыбный рынок! 😄 🐟

До второй половины XIX века рыбой в шведском Гётеборге торговали, не задумываясь о гигиене или удобстве. Сельдь лежала прямо на улице и пахла на весь город, а пешеходам приходилось всё время смотреть под ноги 🐟👀

Наконец, в городе решили разобраться с рыбой и в 1874 году построили новое здание рыбного рынка. Оно было похоже на церковь, так что за ним быстро закрепилось название «рыбная церковь» — на местном диалекте Feskekörka (Фескечёрка) 🐟⛪

В 2013 году Feskekörka получила статус памятника архитектуры. В последние годы её реставрировали, но успели открыть к 150-летию.

Telegram was co-founded by Pavel and Nikolai Durov, the brothers who had previously created VKontakte. In 2016, Forbes’ Michael Solomon described Pavel Durov (pictured, below) as the “Mark Zuckerberg of Russia.” On December 23rd, 2020, Pavel Durov posted to his channel that the company would need to start generating revenue. In early 2021, he added that any advertising on the platform would not use user data for targeting, and that it would be focused on “large one-to-many channels.” He pledged that ads would be “non-intrusive” and that most users would simply not notice any change. Since January 2022, the SC has received a total of 47 complaints and enquiries on illegal investment schemes promoted through Telegram. These fraudulent schemes offer non-existent investment opportunities, promising very attractive and risk-free returns within a short span of time. They commonly offer unrealistic returns of as high as 1,000% within 24 hours or even within a few hours. Since its launch in 2013, Telegram has grown from a simple messaging app to a broadcast network. Its user base isn’t as vast as WhatsApp’s, and its broadcast platform is a fraction the size of Twitter, but it’s nonetheless showing its use. While Telegram has been embroiled in controversy for much of its life, it has become a vital source of communication during the invasion of Ukraine. But, if all of this is new to you, let us explain, dear friends, what on Earth a Telegram is meant to be, and why you should, or should not, need to care. He said that since his platform does not have the capacity to check all channels, it may restrict some in Russia and Ukraine "for the duration of the conflict," but then reversed course hours later after many users complained that Telegram was an important source of information.
