Как рассказали во Дворце бракосочетаний Саратова, Вячеслав и Лидия познакомились зимой 1963-го года на катке «Динамо», куда часто ходили. Знакомство переросло в дружбу, а затем в любовь.

В октябре 1964 пара поженилась. Потом родились двое сыновей. Появились пять внуков, а в 2020 году родился первый правнук.
