Потому что оригинальный Silent Hill 2 – это и плохой хоррор, и плохая игра. Все его заслуги лежат в области повествования и эстетики — и то с эстетикой первая часть поработала куда лучше. Но в повествовании — да, это главный психологический хоррор, золотой эталон жанра в играх до сих пор. Понятно, почему именно его ремейкать взяли.
Ремейк же вышел странным: почти все сильные моменты оригинала в нём стали хуже, а слабые, наоборот, лучше. Поскольку сильных моментов в оригинале было довольно мало, по итогу впечатление от ремейка вышло гораздо более положительным.
