Теперь ознакомиться с опытом Петербурга приехала Валентина Матвиенко, что логично — после того, как депутаты Госдумы возьмут на вооружение наработки Северной столицы, то скоро это поднимется и до Совета Федераций. В сфере социальной политики у Беглова действительно есть результаты: отмена индексации ЖКХ, ликвидация дефицита школ и детских садов (сады, к слову, стали бесплатные с 1 сентября), активно развивающаяся программа «Серебряный возраст».
Помимо петербургского стандарта социальной сферы, Матвиенко смогла оценить и развитие «мегапроектов нулевых», которые были заложены еще в ее время: большой Смоленского моста и ШМСД.
