المُتَسَاهِل بالوقوعِ في الذَّنْبِ؛ يُعَاقَب بِتوالي الذَّنوبِ حتى يَصْعُبْ عليه الخَلاصُ منها؛ فالذَّنْبُ يَجُرُّ أخاه.
يقولُ ابن تيمية -رَحِمَه اللَّه-:
"العملُ السيء يُعاقَب صاحبَهُ في الحالِ بِظُلمَةٍ في القلبِ، وقسوة، وضيقٍ في صَدره، ونفاق، واضطراب، ونسيان ما تَعَلَّمه، وانسداد باب علم كان يطلبه، ونقصٌ في يقينه، وعقله، واسودادٍ في وجهه، وبغضه في قلوب الخلق، واجترائه على ذَنبٍ آخر من جنسه أو غير جنسه، وهَلُمَّ جَرَّا، إلا أنْ يتداركه اللَّهُ برحمته".
فمَنْ اِبْتُلِيَ بالوقوع في ذنبٍ في بداياته فليُبادِر بتركه عاجلًا قبل أن تعتادَ نفسه ويَشُق عليه التحول.
