The 14th Century Vaulted Crypt Beneath The George Vaults - #Rochester, #Kent, #England 🍻
Venture with us into a medieval #crypt beneath a pub and wine bar in a fascinating little town that's absolutely packed with history. This venue allows one to step into the monastic footsteps of #Britain's ancestors, all while enjoying a drink. This is like having a room within a museum all to yourself, except this museum, not only serves alcohol, but allows you to stand up close to, and even touch the relics themselves. But, unlike museums, which have items in rooms, this room and the features within it are what make it a museum within itself. We can only imagine what these walls have seen and heard. We'd like to thank the staff at the George Vaults for giving us a warm welcome and access to this awe-inspiring part of Britain's history.

The Roman and Medieval Wall Behind The Eagle Tavern
- 124 High St, #Rochester, #Kent, #ME1 🍻
There are abundant traces of British and European history within the tiny town of Rochester. One could spend days in this small space and still miss so much. For me, the quirky yet magnificent features behind pleasant pubs such as the Eagle Tavern are what set Britain's public houses apart from the rest of the world. Several pubs within the town give you views of the types of relics studied by academics and tourists alike. If you're in the right place, you really can experience what it's like to interact with a living museum. Follow us on our journey into the life and death of Britain's lost and living pubs.

Yesterday, we visited the Cross Keys in #CoventGarden, where we enjoyed a great selection of lagers within an antiquitous setting. There aren't many public houses that tick as many boxes as this one. Pilsner Urquell and Budweiser Budvar alone are enough to make this one of London's top pubs. The group seemed to be as impressed with this public house as I was the first time I laid eyes on it. Make the most of these gems while we can. Thank you to everyone for a great turnout and a spectacular day. @BritainsPubs, ChelseaDan5

The Rose & Crown (The German Pub) - 47 Colombo St, #London, #SE1
Among London's pub relics are a few buildings that narrowly survived annihilation. Funnily enough, in today's time, it isn't wars or natural disasters destroying our history and skyline, but the decisions made by those tasked with protecting them.

The Gallions Hotel and Albert Dock - Basin Approach, #London, #E16 ⚓️
Join us as we visit what were the largest docks in the world in order to discuss one of its few remaining buildings of historical worth. #Britian and her empire depended on the very shipping that was being carried out within east London's #Docklands. Not only were the greatest minds involved in their construction and maintenance, but so too were a great many of our ancestors who worked the docks or sailed the ships. This pub/hotel still sits in one of the many important locations within the expansive Docklands that once spread from the end of East London all the way to the riverbanks of the city. The places that was once incredibly busy, and noisy, are now, chillingly, as quiet as a mouse. If you enjoy this video, or any of our others, give us a follow and our content a share in order to help others find our work. Thank you 🤝

The Suffering Pub Scene Of Woolwich
Southeast #London, #England
#Woolich, like most parts of London's once thriving and famous #Docklands, has become yet another pub graveyard. We take a short trip through the area to highlight its current climate and the visible death of what was once a bustling social life within South London. There's no denying that the loss of #Britain's pubs is a clear sign of its decline. There's far too much to say, so I shall let the video speak for itself. At the end of this video is a short montage of some other properties to have died in the past few decades. If you enjoy, or connect with this video, give it a share to help others who may have similar interests to find our work. Thank you for watching, and all of your support. 🤝
