Одиннадцать лет назад 10 ноября в Полярных Зорях прошли досрочные выборы на пост главы. Боролись четыре кандидата. Выборы были прямые (всенародные). За мою кандидатуру тогда проголосовало 82,4%. Начался новый этап в жизни под названием "Пухов - мэр", который пролетел с невероятной скоростью, добавил седых волос и подарил бесценный опыт.

In February 2014, the Ukrainian people ousted pro-Russian president Viktor Yanukovych, prompting Russia to invade and annex the Crimean peninsula. By the start of April, Pavel Durov had given his notice, with TechCrunch saying at the time that the CEO had resisted pressure to suppress pages criticizing the Russian government. This provided opportunity to their linked entities to offload their shares at higher prices and make significant profits at the cost of unsuspecting retail investors. Oleksandra Matviichuk, a Kyiv-based lawyer and head of the Center for Civil Liberties, called Durov’s position "very weak," and urged concrete improvements. Also in the latest update is the ability for users to create a unique @username from the Settings page, providing others with an easy way to contact them via Search or their t.me/username link without sharing their phone number.
