Однако Урмата Самаева оштрафовали на 1 млн сомов за злоупотребление должностным положением.
До избрания мэром города Токмака в августе 2021 года Самаев был депутатом ЖК от партии “Кыргызстан”, а в выборах 2020 года он баллотировался от партии “Мекеним Кыргызстaн”, которую нередко связывают с Райымбеком Матраимовым.
