وتعتبر هذه المدينة مهمة ليس فقط من الناحية الاستراتيجية، بل أيضاً من الناحية الثقافية لسوريا ككل.

ولهذا السبب، تم الالتقاء بخطبة عامة في ذلك اليوم نفسه تضمنت دعوات متطرفة. لاحظ النصب التاريخي المهم الذي ألقيت بجانبه الخطبة.
