Первую полноценную рабочую неделю в Новом году экипажи эскадрильи МИ-8 начали с прохождения одного из этапов ежегодной периодической наземной подготовки. Она проводится для поддержания теоретических знаний и практических навыков летного состава.

Очный блок состоит из лекций, зачетов и экзаменов по авиационной безопасности, аварийно-спасательной подготовке (АСП - суша и АСП - вода),
перевозке опасных грузов, подготовке по знанию систем воздушного судна и т.д. Также в рамках периодической наземной подготовки проводится практическая отработка полученных знаний.
