В Нижнем, скажу прямо, Новгороде открылась ярмарка «Арт Мир». Очень большая и плотная, четыреста примерно участников, в том числе из Армении, Китая, Израиля. Это уже восьмая по счету и в этот раз крен вроде бы в сторону традиционных искусств и ремесел – но крен довольно условный. Слово «мир» у нас, как известно, обладает двумя значениями и, что приятно, здесь сразу оба. Мастер-классов по сборке армейских палаток не запланировано. Зато много других, вот по портретам в технике амбротипии, например. (Ой, нет времени расшифровывать.) Здесь у меня работа Константина Лупанова «Утро живописца» от питерской галереи «14/45». Выставка до 9 февраля, все это в пространстве Нижегородской ярмарки.

Some people used the platform to organize ahead of the storming of the U.S. Capitol in January 2021, and last month Senator Mark Warner sent a letter to Durov urging him to curb Russian information operations on Telegram. Apparently upbeat developments in Russia's discussions with Ukraine helped at least temporarily send investors back into risk assets. Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko that there were "certain positive developments" occurring in the talks with Ukraine, according to a transcript of their meeting. Putin added that discussions were happening "almost on a daily basis." Asked about its stance on disinformation, Telegram spokesperson Remi Vaughn told AFP: "As noted by our CEO, the sheer volume of information being shared on channels makes it extremely difficult to verify, so it's important that users double-check what they read." Stocks dropped on Friday afternoon, as gains made earlier in the day on hopes for diplomatic progress between Russia and Ukraine turned to losses. Technology stocks were hit particularly hard by higher bond yields. At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised.
