5–9 февраля показами оперы «Риголетто» — абсолютного хита мирового оперного репертуара — откроется масштабный фестиваль Джузеппе Верди, который продлится до конца сезона.
Идея обратиться к сюжету пьесы Гюго пришла к композитору в сентябре 1849 года, по окончании работы над оперой «Луиза Миллер». Позже, в письме к либреттисту Франческо Марии Пьяве, Верди писал: «Сюжет колоссальный, потрясающий, а главный персонаж — это одно из величайших творений, которым может похвастаться театр всех времён и народов».
Премьера постановки состоялась в Большом в этом сезоне. В качестве музыкального руководителя выступил маэстро Валерий Гергиев, режиссёр-постановщик — Джанкарло Дель Монако.

On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations. But the Ukraine Crisis Media Center's Tsekhanovska points out that communications are often down in zones most affected by the war, making this sort of cross-referencing a luxury many cannot afford. Asked about its stance on disinformation, Telegram spokesperson Remi Vaughn told AFP: "As noted by our CEO, the sheer volume of information being shared on channels makes it extremely difficult to verify, so it's important that users double-check what they read." He floated the idea of restricting the use of Telegram in Ukraine and Russia, a suggestion that was met with fierce opposition from users. Shortly after, Durov backed off the idea. On Telegram’s website, it says that Pavel Durov “supports Telegram financially and ideologically while Nikolai (Duvov)’s input is technological.” Currently, the Telegram team is based in Dubai, having moved around from Berlin, London and Singapore after departing Russia. Meanwhile, the company which owns Telegram is registered in the British Virgin Islands.
