Запуск был произведен в 21:50 по пекинскому времени при помощи ракеты-носителя "Чанчжэн-3B" (Long March 3B). Спутник успешно вышел на заданную орбиту.
Он стал уже третьим по счету из группы высокоорбитальных спутников для предоставления интернет-услуг.
Нынешний запуск стал 538-й полетной миссией для ракет-носителей серии "Чанчжэн".
