Someone seems to have left a fingerprint on one of the miniatures.
I really like how neat and legible the handwriting of the manuscript is.
A chapter ending on the fol. 32v.

I find it quite sad that this style of ornamenting text alignment at the end of a chapter has fallen out of fashion.

A quadrilingual Ottoman banknote of the late Ottoman period.

A rather beautiful material embodiment of how different cultures can coëxist and interact without swallowing and replacing one another.

The outer walls and the dome fresco of Hosios Loukas monastery, built in the mid-10th century next to the town of Distomo, Beotia.
The outer walls of this building showcase an interesting instance of pseudo-Kufic appearing in the middle Byzantine architecture.

Inspired by the decorative — Kufic — calligraphy style of Arabs, the Byzantine as well as other European architects have rethought this style of ornamentation stripping it of any actual textual content, only leaving the outer resemblance to the original adornment.

Behave not as though thou hadſt ten thouſand years to live. Thy doom hangs over thee. While thou liveſt, while thou mayeſt, become good (1916)

it is hard to fall in love;

is to fail in love.
