Первые угрозы поступили в начале октября. Активисты сообщили об этом в полицию, но реакции силовиков не было. Альшевских призвал областную прокуратуру и полицию защитить жителей Сысертского района.
Жители начали бороться против проекта свалки весной 2023 года. Они собрали 3 тыс. подписей за отказ от строительства, провели групповой пикет с могильными крестами с названиями населенных пунктов в окрестностях будущего полигона. В октябре участнику протестов неизвестные разбили машину. После этого жители вышли на митинг и записали ролик с частушками про чиновников.

He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations.
