Настоящая работа продолжает серию ежегодных оценок морских потенциалов 100 стран, публикация которых была начата авторами в 2021 г. На основе системы индексов, разработанной в ИМЭМО РАН, произведена сравнительная оценка совокупного морского потенциала и сформирован индекс морской мощи (ИММ) указанных держав. Данные показатели рассчитаны с использованием статистики, характеризующей различные стороны их военной, хозяйственной, научной и иной деятельности в Мировом океане. В настоящем выпуске приведена новая версия (2.0) указанных индексов, рассчитанных по состоянию на 1.01.2024.

A Russian Telegram channel with over 700,000 followers is spreading disinformation about Russia's invasion of Ukraine under the guise of providing "objective information" and fact-checking fake news. Its influence extends beyond the platform, with major Russian publications, government officials, and journalists citing the page's posts. The Security Service of Ukraine said in a tweet that it was able to effectively target Russian convoys near Kyiv because of messages sent to an official Telegram bot account called "STOP Russian War." Soloviev also promoted the channel in a post he shared on his own Telegram, which has 580,000 followers. The post recommended his viewers subscribe to "War on Fakes" in a time of fake news. Continuing its crackdown against entities allegedly involved in a front-running scam using messaging app Telegram, Sebi on Thursday carried out search and seizure operations at the premises of eight entities in multiple locations across the country. One thing that Telegram now offers to all users is the ability to “disappear” messages or set remote deletion deadlines. That enables users to have much more control over how long people can access what you’re sending them. Given that Russian law enforcement officials are reportedly (via Insider) stopping people in the street and demanding to read their text messages, this could be vital to protect individuals from reprisals.
