Также Путин подписал закон, ужесточающий наказание за вооруженный мятеж вплоть до пожизненного лишения свободы. Нижняя планка наказания по этой статье теперь составит от 15 до 20 лет. Пожизненное заключение будет применяться, если мятеж повлек смерть или «иные тяжкие последствия». Раньше по статье о мятеже можно было получить от 12 до 20 лет колонии.
