20 лет назад, 8 марта 2005 года был уничтожен лидер чеченских террористов Аслан Масхадов.

С его ликвидацией кардинально изменился ход финальной фазы войны.

Захвативший лидерство в вооруженном подполье полевой командир Доку Умаров объявил об учреждении Имарата Кавказ (запрещенная в России террористическая организации), а Ичкерия стала одним из вилаятов (областей) нового образования, куда также были вписаны все северокавказские республики. В результате чеченское вооруженное подполье раскололось на два лагеря — имаратчиков и ичкерийцев. Умаров, опасаясь уже не только российских силовиков, но и своих бывших соратников, которые обвиняли его в предательстве идеи чеченской независимости, прятался в лесах соседней Ингушетии. Там 7 сентября 2013 года он и был в конце концов ликвидирован.

Its influence extends beyond the platform, with major Russian publications, government officials, and journalists citing the page's posts.
