Приговором Басманного районного суда города Москвы

Борзов Андрей Борисович признан виновным в совершении преступления, предусмотренного ч. 6 ст. 290 УК РФ и назначено наказание в виде лишения свободы на срок 8 лет 6 месяцев, с отбыванием наказания в исправительной колонии строгого режима.

Васильев Дмитрий Александович признан виновным в совершении преступления, предусмотренного ч. 4 ст. 291.1 УК РФ и назначил наказание в виде лишения свободы на срок 7 лет, с отбыванием наказания в исправительной колонии строгого режима.

Борзов А.Б. и Васильев Д.А. взяты под стражу в зале суда.

A Russian Telegram channel with over 700,000 followers is spreading disinformation about Russia's invasion of Ukraine under the guise of providing "objective information" and fact-checking fake news. Its influence extends beyond the platform, with major Russian publications, government officials, and journalists citing the page's posts. He said that since his platform does not have the capacity to check all channels, it may restrict some in Russia and Ukraine "for the duration of the conflict," but then reversed course hours later after many users complained that Telegram was an important source of information. Emerson Brooking, a disinformation expert at the Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab, said: "Back in the Wild West period of content moderation, like 2014 or 2015, maybe they could have gotten away with it, but it stands in marked contrast with how other companies run themselves today." Additionally, investors are often instructed to deposit monies into personal bank accounts of individuals who claim to represent a legitimate entity, and/or into an unrelated corporate account. To lend credence and to lure unsuspecting victims, perpetrators usually claim that their entity and/or the investment schemes are approved by financial authorities.
